Dr. Izzy TenBrook, Ph.D., LPC - Licensed Professional Counselor, Postdoctoral Resident
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and a licensed psychologist candidate completing my postdoctoral residency at CTAC for my psychologist license. I specialize in the treatment of eating disorders, LGBTQIA+ identity exploration and coming out issues, anxiety disorders, depression, relationship concerns, family stress, perfectionism, self-esteem issues, and career development. Having recovered from my own experience with an eating disorder, I personally understand how nerve-wracking it can be to reach out for help and trust that you will be supported. My hope is that I can support you in your journey to gaining empowerment and healing.
Education & Training
I received my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Iowa State University, and I completed my doctoral psychology internship at Colorado State University Health Network. I have completed additional training in trans and nonbinary health issues, and am a member of WPATH.

Approach to Therapy
As you sit across from me, I want you to know that you are accepted as you are and that we will work collaboratively on your path forward. You will find that I am eager to get to know you fully, and that I am someone who values warmth, compassion, humor, and genuineness.
While my therapeutic approach is guided primarily by relational-cultural, interpersonal process, and dialectical behavior therapies, I work to be flexible to meet my client's needs. My hope is to help you gain insight into your ways of being through deep emotional exploration and reflection, examination of interpersonal patterns, and exploration of familial and cultural influences, and to develop your sense of confidence and empowerment through the application of new strategies.
I have lived most of my life in the Midwest, and now that I am living in Colorado, I have found my home in the mountains. I love adventure, whether that be trying a new hiking trail or going on foodventures to local restaurants with my wife. A perfect weekend includes soaking up fresh air and sunshine as well as cuddling up on the couch with my dog watching Food Network or college sports.
