Approach to Therapy

I work primarily from a psychodynamic perspective, however, integrate several therapies into my work including ACT and systemic interventions. I believe a critical factor in creating change begins with a strong therapeutic alliance and trust, so finding a therapist who is a good fit is an important part of the process.

I work to create a non-judgmental, safe, supportive environment for my clients to explore and develop a curiosity about their lives and functioning. It is my belief that through relationships with self and others, we can grow, develop, and heal; and in doing so can move toward a life that aligns with our values and goals. In providing trauma-informed care, I support individuals in developing internal resources which establish a sense of safety, self-compassion, and rebuild a sense of empowerment in their lives.

I believe that a trusting therapeutic relationship is the foundation for open communication which supports deeper understanding of self and greater opportunity for growth. My aim is to provide services focused on connecting and understanding the individual's experience, explore patterns of behavior, and provide honest feedback with respect and compassion.
