Dr. Janean Anderson
A Great Therapist

Dr. Saryn Levy, Ph.D. - Licensed Psychologist

I am a licensed psychologist specializing in trauma, interpersonal dynamics, and general mental health. Individuals frequently find themselves stuck: in seemingly repeating patterns, with symptoms of anxiety and depression, or with pain from the past. I believe that a warm and collaborative therapeutic relationship can facilitate healing, growth, and change, ultimately resulting in a greater sense of personal fulfillment.

Education & Training

I received my B.A. in Psychology and Sociology from Emory University, and subsequently completed my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies at Adelphi University. Prior to joining CTAC, I trained in a variety of settings including community mental health centers, hospitals, substance abuse treatment centers, college counseling centers and the VA. I have treated individuals including students, veterans and survivors of torture, across the lifespan.

Approach to Therapy

My approach to therapy is primarily psychodynamic, but I work from an integrative lens. I believe that much of our present is informed by our past, that our relationships are central to our well being, and that learning to acknowledge and accept all parts of ourselves relieves suffering.

I strive to create a warm, open, and nonjudgmental therapeutic space where patients feel safe articulating difficult thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Psychotherapy also provides tools, insights, and support to facilitate this process. Engaging in psychotherapy can be simultaneously challenging, meaningful, painful, and rewarding. My hope is that through a collaborative relationship, you can feel supported in experiencing this process together.

I recently moved to Denver after completing my doctoral training in New York City, and am thrilled to have traded Manhattan's skyscraper skyline with Colorado's beautiful Rockies. In my spare time, I love reading, cooking, and spending time in nature.
